Andrea Burns

Attorney Andrea Burns has over twenty-five years of legal experience.  She began her legal career in New York and Massachusetts in 1995 and 1996, respectively.  After graduating from law school, Andrea was selected for a fellowship with Catholic Charities to provide immigration assistance to indigent clients as well as to counsel individuals seeking political asylum in the United States.  Upon completion of that program, Andrea accepted employment as an Assistant District Attorney with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office where she served for twelve years. In this position, Andrea prosecuted criminal cases from arrest through hearings to disposition by negotiated plea or trial.  She successfully brought to trial all types of crimes including narcotics offenses and violent felonies.  Andrea was then promoted to the prestigious Homicide Trials Bureau where she fought for justice and obtained murder convictions on behalf of vicitims who could no longer speak for themselves.
