SMART - Saving Missing Animals Response Team

In the heart of Flagler County, Florida, there is a place where hope is always on the horizon, and it goes by the name SMART Dog Rescue. It is a voice for the voiceless – rescuing dogs that have known only neglect and abuse until they find their way into the compassionate arms of Caroline Johnson and her dedicated team of volunteers.

SMART Dog Rescue is a no-kill, non-profit organization, operating on the strength of donations from kind-hearted locals and supporters across the country. Each day, Caroline and her team pour their hearts into their mission: saving dogs in need, providing them with essential medical care, and eventually finding them loving foster homes and, ultimately, forever homes.

SMART’s commitment to animal welfare is unwavering, driven by a deep-seated belief that every dog is precious and deserves a loving home. Caroline and her team work tirelessly, responding to urgent calls about strays, injured dogs or families searching for their missing pets. They arrive at the scene, their hearts heavy with the knowledge that the dogs they are about to meet might have endured unimaginable suffering.

Each rescue story is a testament to the hard work and dedication of SMART and it’s team of volunteers. In 2023 they reported 128 dogs were rescued and found loving homes. SMART’s mission is to also spread awareness team attends many events each year in order to spread awareness and to raise funds that help to cover the Medical bills to get the dogs on their way to good health.
